What happens to a consumer who gets power on an average of 4 hours in a month and still yet bills are being pumped in without any plans to improve supply....

Dear Paul, For a consumer who has an average power supply of 4 hours and who receives bills which do not reflect such supply, you have the authority to challenge your bills and ensure that they reflect your actual power supply and usage. Lodge a complaint properly before the Customer Complaint Unit of the PHEDC business unit closest to you demanding for a bill review and load assessment to be carried out on your premises. Your complaint must be in writing. Go with 2 copies of the letter, leave one with the PHEDC official on duty while he acknowledges receipt on the other and returns to you. Give PHEDC 21 days to respond to your complaint. If they do not, you could then take the matter to the Forum Office of the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC) Port-Harcourt via a written petition addressed to the Chairman of the Forum. Attach the acknowledged copy of your letter to the PHEDC and copies of your disputed bills (you can find the address for the forum on our site as well as templates for the letters). The NERC Forum is mandated to hear and resolve your complaint within a period of two months. We hope this was helpful. Regards.
