I also observed that my meter was on Bypass and I called them(PHCN) to correct it but they dont want to do it but giving me estimated billing. Please I need your assistance.

Dear Briggs, You have the right, as a customer, to be billed strictly based on the value of electricity services you consume, and that is what the meter serves to achieve. The PHEDC was wrong to have insisted on leaving your meter bypassed (as you allege), thereby, leaving you with the only option of estimated billing. We presume your earlier complaint to PHEDC was not put in writing (which invariably may cause it not to reflect on any record). We advise that you make the complaint formal by writing to the business unit of the PHEDC serving your area. Once the DisCo ( distribution company) gets and acknowledges your complaints, it is mandated by law to look into it and come up with a favorable action within 15-working days. Ensure you keep a copy of the acknowledged letter with you. It is highly probable that the DisCo will hesitate - or even outright refuse - to act after getting your complaints. We are aware of this fact, but the law has set a procedure for complaints handling and it has to be followed. So, do deliver the complaint letter and wait for the 15-working day period, if the DisCo does not act (as predicted), you should not hesitate to get back to us on this platform. We would take the issue to a higher body with supervisory authority over the DisCo - the NERC Forum - and ensure you get your issue sorted out satisfactorily. Kind regards.
